The relationship means that Blue will supply a range of heavy-duty attachments, used in scrap, waste, forestry and port industries.

Blue Ireland are delighted to announce their new distribution agreement with Rotobec, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of grapples and attachments. The relationship means that Blue will supply a range of heavy-duty attachments, used in scrap, waste, forestry and port industries.

Rotobec were first established in 1975 in Quebec, Canada. The name Rotobec signifies “rotators” of Quebec. The company introduced some of the first rotating hydraulic systems used within the forest industry. Following this the company continued to add serval products to its range, including those used in scrap recycling, waste handling, railroad maintenance and construction. Today, Rotobec products are used by thousands of customers in over 40 countries, with them now also expanding into Ireland.

There are a vast range of attachments available to Blue Ireland’s customers, including grabs for scrap, waste, forestry and port applications. All their attachments are made within the factory in Quebec, but they also have a depot in Rotterdam, Holland, which holds a parts service for their European markets.

The waste attachment grabs include; compaction, sorting, waste collection grapples, multi-purpose grapples and contractor grapples. The Multi-Purpose Grabble is a lightweight attachment, which is to be ideally mounted on material handlers, and used to pick up every material imaginable. This wide product offering means that every application in the waste industry has been covered.

Rotobec also offer an extensive range of scrap attachments, such as, Orange Peel Grapples and Poly Grab Grapples. The Orange Peel Grapple is sleek, yet robust, with a standard 360-degree rotation, which makes them a dream to operate. They can be fitted with magnets, allowing them to easily sort and separate scrap metal materials. The Poly Grab Grapple, on the other hand, has a 6.3 tonne lifting capacity, making it the toughest grapple around. Its unique wear proof tips provide an unmatched level of strength and ensure minimal downtime of your Grab.

For Forestry applications, Rotobec supply Log Grapples, Pulpwood Grapples and Grapple Saws. Available in standard duty, heavy duty and super heavy duty, the Log Grapples set the benchmark for toughness and durability. It’s unique jaw shape, allows wood to easily roll up the inner surface of the grapple, meaning operators can achieve a round bunch every time. The Grapple Saws can be added to both the heavy duty and super heavy-duty Log Grapples. This feature allows you to remove the human element and increase your operation’s efficiency, by performing two tasks at once.

Rotobec also offer Clamshell Buckets, which are perfect for port applications. With the buckets ranging between 1.5 yd3 and 14 yd3, each size has been designed to provide the maximum level of performance based on the type of material being handled.

Blue Ireland Director, Liam Brophy, commented; “Blue Equipment Ireland are delighted to announce the expansion of their attachment range to include the Rotobec innovative heavy-duty grabs and attachments suitable for a multitude of demanding applications including, scrap, forestry and waste”. A spokesperson at Rotobec added, “Welcome to the Rotobec family, Blue Ireland! Rotobec is pleased to announce our newest dealer in Europe”.
