Blue Spares employee receives staff recognition award for going the extra mile

John Dennan, Senior Account Manager at Blue Spares, went above and beyond to help a desperate customer on Christmas Day!

Johnathan received a call on Christmas Day from a customer saying they required a part for one of their machines. The customer explained that he couldn’t get hold of their usual supplier for the required part, and asked Johnathan if he could help.

The initial call from the customer was taken at 12:15, Johnathan then put his Christmas dinner on hold and arrived to meet the customer at Blue Spares’ facility at 13:10 to hand the part over. By 14:25 the customers machine was up and running again.

This is another example of how Blue’s valued employees really do make the business standout from its competitors. The customer is the UK’s number one supplier within their industry, and without the help of John and Blue Spares their machine could have been down for several days over the Christmas period, which would have potentially had severe implications on their day to day operations.

Blue prides themselves on the level of service that they can provide to its customers, so every quarter they hand out a Staff Recognition Award to an employee who has gone the extra mile. What John did for his customer, was provide the highest level of service imaginable, meaning he received the award for January.

John’s role as Senior Account Manager means that he looks after key customer accounts and helps to support the rest of the sales team at Blue Spares. Ian Webber, General Manager of Blue Spares, shares his thoughts: ‘’When John called me on Christmas day to tell me he was going to our warehouse to get a part for a major UK customer I wasn’t too surprised. John is like any of the team at Blue Spares, the guys just love serving our customers and solving their problems. John has played a real key role in helping drive our business forward and his previous experience of running a busy regional service business has really helped us shape our customer proposition. John’s dedication, first class customer service ethic and can-do attitude epitomises what Blue stands for.’’
