Founded in 1982 by Robin Ling, Ling Group has grown into a dynamic organisation at the forefront of metal recycling and demolition. Based in Kent, the company serves areas including Thanet, Canterbury, and Dover, offering a diverse range of services that extend beyond scrap metal processing. Over the decades, Ling Group has expanded into demolition, tyre recycling, end-of-life vehicle processing, battery recycling, and Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) recycling. Their dedication to sustainable waste management has led to collaborations with Kent County Council, Thanet District Council, and Canterbury City Council, reinforcing their role as a key player in the region’s recycling sector.
For over a decade, Ling Group has trusted Blue Machinery for their material handling needs. Since Blue Machinery took on the Fuchs dealership in 2011, Ling Group has continuously renewed and upgraded their fleet, ensuring they stay up to date with the latest advancements in technology and efficiency.
Today, Ling Group operates a Fuchs MHL 340F and a recently purchased MHL 331F, acquired in January 2025. With each new machine, the company invests in extended warranties and service contracts, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and peace of mind for their operations.
The Fuchs MHL 340F is a powerful all-rounder, featuring a 13.7m reach and a 30.6 tonne operating weight, making it ideal for scrap, waste, and port applications. Equipped with a two-circuit hydraulic system, it delivers fast and precise material handling. When we visited Ling Group, their MHL 340F was hard at work processing end-of-life vehicles, a crucial aspect of their recycling operations.

Known for its high performance in a compact package, the Fuchs MHL 331F material handler boasts a 12m reach and a 24.2 tonne operating weight. Its elevating cab provides operators with an unmatched view, enhancing efficiency when loading containers, balers, and sorting systems. Additionally, side and reversing cameras contribute to safety in the busy recycling yard. Ling Group’s newest MHL 331F is already playing a key role inside their recycling shed, efficiently loading waste materials into their fleet of articulated lorries.
Ling Group remains committed to operating a modern and efficient fleet, with a strong focus on low emissions and fuel economy. Harry Ling, Director at Ling Group comments: “We like to run a fleet of modern machines, as we benefit from low-emission and fuel-efficient engines. We also love the benefits that the telematics system offers – we can monitor our usage, idle hours, fuel burns, and much more, which gives us great insight into our operations.”
Harry goes on to comment on the support he receives from Blue Machinery: “We love the service provided by Blue Machinery, and in particular, the service engineer, Dave Andrews. Dave provides an excellent service and is a big reason why we continue to come back to Blue and the Fuchs handlers.”
As Ling Group continues to grow and evolve, their partnership with Blue Machinery and Fuchs remains integral to their success in the recycling sector. Their commitment to investing in cutting-edge equipment ensures they maintain efficiency, safety, and sustainability across their operations.
