In 2024, Blue Machinery was appointed the exclusive UK distributor for Green-Tec, a Terex brand focused on state-of-the-art vegetation management. Fast forward a year, and all three Blue Machinery dealerships, Blue Southern, Blue Central, and Blue Scotland, have successfully delivered the Terex TH3 Tree Handlers to pioneering customers across the country. This milestone marks a firm foothold for the Terex Green-Tec brand in the UK arboriculture sector.

The TH3 is a compact, purpose-built tree handler designed for safe and efficient vegetation control in tight or urban environments. With a 12.8 m reach and 21.9 tonne operating weight, it handles tasks like sawing, trimming, mulching, and stump grinding. Key features include all-wheel steering, a tiltable cab with 5.3 m lift height, and polycarbonate protection, offering excellent visibility, manoeuvrability, and operator safety for roadside and forestry work.

First machine sold in the UK

Woodward Tree Surgeons were the first customer in the UK to take delivery of the Green-Tec TH3 tree handler, supplied by Blue Machinery (Southern). Based in Southampton, Woodward are a professional arboriculture company known for expert tree care services.

Back in late 2024, Director James Rolph attended the TH3 Demo Days to trial the machine. Impressed by its capabilities, he took delivery soon after. Now, several months on, James reports that the TH3 has “outperformed every other tree handler and telehandler” he’s worked with. The machine has significantly improved operational speed and efficiency, particularly for jobs requiring road closures and tight deadlines.

We were proud to showcase James's machine on our stand at The Arb Show in May, it was fantastic to see him and his team come by to support!

Once a Blue…

Ayrshire Tree Surgeons were quick to follow suit after attending the Demo Days. As one of Scotland’s most respected arboriculture firms, with over 18 years of industry expertise, they recognised the Terex Tree Handler as a perfect fit for their expanding fleet.

Company owner Stuart Leith, a devoted Rangers fan, opted to take his machine in blue! We recently visited Ayrshire Tree Surgeons working on a project in Kilbirnie, where the machine was busy clearing dense vegetation surrounding a historic castle which is being restored into a new wedding venue.

David Adam, Commercial Director at Ayrshire Tree Surgeons, added: “Due to continual expansion and increasing demand for our mechanised approach to roadside tree removal, we were in the market for a new machine with the capabilities to deliver the volumes and safety elements that our service offering required. After exploring various options, it was decided that the Terex Tree Handler delivered on all areas. Dealing with Blue Machinery (Scotland), from initial discussions through to delivery, was seamless with great engagement from Ross Kellett throughout. The machine itself has now been integrated into the business and has proved to be an excellent addition to our existing fleet of large tree felling equipment.”

Making it permanent

At the start of 2025, Manor Tree Care ltd took the TH3 on a long-term hire after testing out the machine at the Demo Days a few months earlier. After experiencing a dramatic boost in productivity and efficiency across their projects, they committed to purchasing the machine.

Manor Tree Care operates nationwide with over 20 skilled team members, providing arboriculture services across highways, power distribution, and construction. Their investment in the TH3 reflects their commitment to staying on the cutting edge of mechanised tree care.
