ABOUT THE ROLE:

The purpose of the “Yard Operative” role is:

  • To support and assist in the preparation of machinery for repairs, maintenance and ready for despatch to customers
  • Working closely and in collaboration with all individuals & teams to deliver Leading Service, consistently adding value for our customers, suppliers and colleagues.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting yard employees with responsibilities as required.
  • Booking Plant Equipment and attachments in/out using Mobile App in line with the machine transport list and operational needs.
  • Safe Load/Unloading of plant machinery.
  • Operate/Wash-off and Valet a wide range of mobile and operated plant machinery to a high standard, in a safe manner.
  • General yard duties including keeping yard/machine wash bays clean/tidy and upkeep of wash equipment.
  • Assisting engineers in the preparation of machinery for customers.
  • Operating FLT and telehandler as required.
  • Strict adherence to Health & Safety policy and procedure at all times. Engage in Health & Safety matters for yard and store operations including oversight off other employees/subcontractors working on sight.
  • Carrying out yard machine movements in a safe manner.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Sound knowledge of Blue Central business and supporting tools.
  • Strong Knowledge of Blue Central Franchised Products.
  • Basic knowledge of IT and Microsoft software

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Yard based with occasional travel to other Blue Group sites may be required in line with business needs.
