This role will lead the technical sales and aftersales activities for concrete batching plants and concrete product solutions across Scotland and North East of England. The position will combine strategic sales development, technical support, and aftersales leadership to grow market share, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure long-term brand reputation. Based in Scotland, with regular travel to customer sites, head office, and European supplier locations.
Reporting to the Sales Director and collaborating with the wider sales, engineering, and service teams, this is a diverse and hands-on role. Key duties include:
- Sales Leadership: Drive sales of concrete batching plants and associated products, delivering revenue and margin targets.
- Aftersales Management: Oversee installations, technical support, and customer training to maximise plant performance and customer satisfaction.
- Strategic Growth: Develop sales plans to increase market share in concrete production and construction materials sectors.
- Customer Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with end-users, providing tailored technical and commercial solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Work with sales specialists, engineers, and service manager to deliver full lifecycle support for customers.
- Marketing & Promotion: Support marketing campaigns, trade shows, and product demonstrations to increase brand visibility.
- Product Expertise: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and new technologies to provide trusted technical advice.
- Reporting: Regularly report on sales performance, aftersales service metrics, and customer feedback to senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance product offerings, service levels, and customer experience.
- Proven track record in technical sales and aftersales within the construction materials, concrete, or capital equipment sectors.
- Strong knowledge of concrete batching plants, concrete products, or related heavy equipment.
- Experience of managing both direct end-user sales and long-term aftersales service agreements.
- Commercial and financial awareness, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Leadership in both strategic decision-making and tactical, hands-on customer support.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels.
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to translate complex systems into customer value.
- IT literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the Scotland/North East England and occasionally within Europe for training and customer visits.
- Knowledge of concrete production processes and equipment.
- Experience in aftermarket service, spare parts, and customer technical support.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable delivering training, demonstrations, and technical presentations.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to plant operations.
